In class today we explored the program GarageBand.

I still feel quite disjointed from this program and would like to understand and witness some examples of it being used in the classroom.

I think a rigorous structure of baby steps leading to an end goal in composition needs to be outlined in order for students to stay on task in the classroom and not get distracted by 'doodling' in the program. However I can see the positives in this program. For example, the accessibility of it is fantastic. Students can connect to it easily on any apple product or download it for Windows. This is also a great program for Stage 4 students who are experiencing music for the first time. They don't need to be able to read music to make music.
